Travel can influence the interpretation of the stories you read, inspire you to want to visit certain places, and it can also create worlds in your mind that you can look to experience in real life. Literature can reinforce your views and encourage you to build on and beyond certain beliefs. This week I dive into how stories from my past have been revisited and reinterpreted after experiencing them in some ways in my travel. I also begin to touch on how James Baldwin’s essay “The Discovery of What It Means to Be an American” has reinforced my love of intentional travel. This is just the beginning! I can’t wait to connect with you guys on this.
